Central African Republic legalized Bitcoin

The Central African Republic became the first country in Africa to recognize bitcoin as a legitimate payment currency. The government is confident that this will help the country’s economic recovery.

The document on the legalization of Bitcoin was signed by the National Assembly of the Central African Republic. The bill was initiated by CAR Minister of Digital Economy, Postal Services and Telecommunications Gourna Zacko and Minister of Finance and Budget Calixte Nganongo.

The document establishes the legal basis for the regulation of crypto in the country and describes the use of bitcoin as a means of payment.

Officials are confident that the legalization of Bitcoin will attract many investors and make the country a cryptocurrency leader. The government hopes to introduce blockchain into all spheres of the country’s life.
