The arrest warrant for Nelson Mandela auctioned off as NFT
An NFT arrest warrant for anti-apartheid fighter Nelson Mandela has been sold at auction for $130,550. Proceeds will go to the anti-apartheid museum Liliesleaf Farm in South Africa.
The auction took place last weekend in Cape Town. The starting price for an NFT featuring an arrest warrant for South Africa’s first democratically elected black president was $61,800.
The general director of the Momint auction, Ahren Posthumus, said that during the auction, the price of NFT more than doubled to $130,550. The buyer was a foreigner living in the UAE.
