In 2021, NFTs have become a significant element of popular culture, and the trend will probably continue in 2022 as well.
Samsung seems to have spotted the trend and is taking steps to bring popular culture and NFTs even closer to our everyday lives. Namely, the company stated that the newest series of Samsung smart TVs will enable users to access the NFT explorer and marketplace.
The TV’s marketplace will collect data from several crypto marketplaces, in order to provide accurate prices. Apart from the token value, other data will be available, such as details about the blockchains they run on and their developers. The purchase of NFTs through the TV device will be possible and the process will be fast and easy.
The NFT Aggregation Platform will be incorporated in several new models of Samsung smart TVs. The platform brings in a series of new features. The users will be able to browse, learn about, and buy their favourite art via NFTs.
The special calibration feature will ensure the precise and proper display of NFTs on the screen.
If the project succeeds, it will be a historical event. It would be the first time that NFT trading has been made available via TV sets.
The models that will provide buying and selling NFTs are:
- Samsung’s MicroLed,
- Neo QLED, and
- The Frame models
Apart from the NFT incorporation, these devices will be enhanced by other innovative features as well. For example, it will be possible to charge them with the natural and artificial light in the room, contributing to reduced energy consumption.
Furthermore, users will be able to play cloud-based video games, without devices such as PlayStation. Cutting-edge features Nvidia GeForce Now and Google Stadia will also be available on the new models.
In 2021, there have been multiple cases of NFTs contributing to a variety of artists, sportspeople, global brands, and numerous celebrities. The Non-Fungible token technology contributed to building a more meaningful relationship between celebrities and their fans.
Furthermore, NFTs proved to be a great way to honour the lives of deceased celebrities. According to Eli Tan from Coindesk, NFTs play a fundamentally important role in the development of metaverse. They are able to give people complete ownership of their work, characters, and even virtual land.
