Despite his indictment, the former U.S. president isn’t letting up on his exploration of web3 space. On Tuesday, Donald announced the launch of Series 2 of his Trump Digital Trading Cards NFT collection.
The message comes from Trump’s official account on his social media platform, Truth Social. He said the launch of Series 2 is “due to the great success” of the previously launched NFT collection:

Series 2 of Trump Digital Trading Cards consists of 47,000 NFTs (2,000 more than Series 1), which will be minted on the Polygon blockchain. The $99 price remains the same as with the previous edition. However, the art, rarity, and utility of the NFTs are different.
The Trump Digital Trading Cards website states that no card has more than 10 identical tokens. Instead of sweepstakes, people who buy 47 tokens can enter to win a dinner with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Those who buy 100 tokens in cryptocurrency won’t only receive the dinner, but also a unique piece of art inspired by Trump.
The price of the Series 1 Trump NFT collection reacted to the news with a sharp drop, losing about half its value on the secondary market OpenSea, from nearly $840 (0.4 ETH) to $420 (0.2 ETH).
The previous price of 0.4 ETH wasn’t always so high. When news of Trump’s arrest broke in early April, the collection soared.

Trump unveiled his first NFT collection in December last year, which then sold out within hours. The U.S. Office of Government Ethics recently revealed that Trump’s earnings from the collection ranged from $500,000 to $1 million.
