Many thought that it was only a joke Slim Jim, Meataversa, and Long Boi Gang, the famous trio of meaty treats brands rebranded their Twitter account to “Meata” in October, referencing Facebook’s rebrand around the same time.

However, the company recently announced launching their own NFTs and virtual environment in the metaverse.

According to the announcement, the company will offer the possibility to browse, accumulate, and trade with their virtual goods and food products.

In April last year, the Slim Jim trademark became popular on social media after posting a series of dogecoin (DOGE) memes, winning Adweek’s March Madness-themed brand competition. After the rebrand in October and the recent announcements, the CEO of the company’s parent company Conagra Brands said that additional crypto-themed activations can be expected in the future as well.

Slim Jim is another food brand expanding into the virtual realm, along with McDonald’s, Panera, Panda Express, and others.
